Nearly time to go on holiday again...

... and I haven't even had time to write about the first one! (properly). We had a fantastic time. Thinking about it now brings a smile to my face. We didn't have much 'down time' which has been a feature of the last couple of holidays, time to read our 12 (each) library books, look at magazines and generally re-charge. But being in the fresh Devon air certainly helped me!

We're off again on Thursday, and I'm just beginning to get the clothes ironed and sort a few things out. This holiday is going to be very different because we're going with the family, something I vowed when I was about 15 that I'd never be doing again! There's a pool, so I've borrowed a float for Edward, and need to try my swimming costume on to make sure its not see through! I'm going to be cooking, along with my sister, so I've got recipes and lists coming out of my ears... its going to be hard work! Its also going to be hard not being able to drink - while the others let their hair down and go crazy!

This week we went to a new toddler group. Time has come for me to do some more structured activities in the week methinks. Elizabeth loved it, was in her element, not at all shy or unwilling to participate. Edward went on a play gym and was quite happy too!

Other than that quite a quiet week. Started the week trying to finish my Mum's photobook (which hasn't arrived yet) and finished the week wondering whether I need to do anything to curb my sugar addiction (am eating chocolate, biscuits etc by the barrel load, and drinking too much apple juice).

Edward is 19lb 13oz!

He is 18 weeks old, and in 9-12 month clothes already! He is starting to purposefully play with his toys, and although I couldn't actually say he is consistently sleeping through we do have more nights when he only wakes up at about 5.30am, which is a lot better than we had with Elizabeth. He had his final set of injections at the end of last week, and has had a funny tummy all weekend, but apart from that hes doing well.

I've sent out (most of) the invitations for his christening which is on Sunday 2nd August. I've been to Sainsburys in Shrewsbury today to hire the glasses, and we're about to order platters from Sainsburys too. He's got to have a try on of the family christening robe - which I think might be too small! We're also trying to prepare for the next holiday. Hence don't have much time to blog at the moment!

Back from two lovely weeks!

Two sunny weeks in Devon. Amazing. Can't believe its over. Where have we been?

  • Dartington Cider Press Centre
  • Becky Falls
  • Lannacombe Beach
  • South Milton Sands
  • North Sands
  • Totnes
  • Buckfastleigh to Totness steam train
  • Slapton

Weather has been terrific. The house was just as we remembered it, with the added bonus of a rotary washing line. Had a couple of bottles of wine, and read one book (the high life!). Used the borrowed roof box. Elizabeth in her element (but wouldn't go in the sea). Edward fitted in with everything, and seems to have grown up loads!
